Shadow fumed, as anger flooded his mind.

That kid picked the wrong day to show his snotty face. After all the torment he put Shadow through, not to mention that car.

Shadow was done. He was going to give that kid a lesson. He'll rip off that kid's head. Tear out his heart. That kid...that kid....

That kid is crying.

As the kid got closer and closer to him, Shadow could make out tears running down his cheeks. His yellow shirt was slightly stained by wet spots. His eyes looked slightly red.

He stopped right in front of Shadow, sniffling. He looked up at Shadow, a sad look plastered on his face. He was trying to say something, but all that came out were slight gasps for air.

Shadow, who while not as murderously angry as he was, was still irritated. "Calm down boy," he spat.

After a few more sniffles, the boy was finally able to say it. "I-I'm s-s-sorry."

Shadow's eyes widened in surprise, as his face softened. Is he dreaming?

"What?" Shadow asked, quietly.

"I'm s-sorry for how I treated you," the boy said, calming down slightly. "I saw what they said about you on TV. I thought you were just some jerk, so I threw stuff at you. But then..."

He started tearing up again. "You saved me from the car. And you got hurt and I just...ran away and...."

The kid started crying again. Shadow looked down at him in confusion.

"Y-you know," the kid started again, "my mom always says that we should give people second chances, and I didn't do that. I'm so so sorry Mr. Shadow."

Shadow's mind processed the words thoroughly. Second chances....

Shadow knelt down on one knee, and got to the kid's level. He put a hand on the kid's shoulder, making the kid look right at him.

"What you did here..." Shadow began, "was very brave. Your mother's a smart woman. And you're a smart kid to listen to her."

Shadow paused, before closing his eyes in thought. He opened them back up.

"I forgive you."

The kid got a big smile on his face, as Shadow stood back up.

"Now, run along please." Shadow told him. "I need to deal with something."

The kid happily nodded his head, as he started to run off. He then turned back for a second. "I'll see you later Mr. Shadow!" He called, as he started to run away again.

"See you later kid..." Shadow muttered, as he turned back to the water. The kid just apologized to him. The kid that made Shadow's life unbearable, just apologized.

If that could happen, then....

Shadow shook his head. He shouldn't get all wound up again. It's been a hell of a day, and he needs to get some rest.

He can't go back to Rouge's apartment. Even if Rouge wasn't there, just the smell of the breakfast would get him going again. No, there was only one place to rest.

Shadow used Chaos Control. He teleported from the park, to his hill. Shadow gave a slight smile when he saw it. But it disappeared almost immediately.

Blaze was sitting under the tree.

She looked tired, and she looked at Shadow with weary, but relieved eyes.

"Hello, Shadow." She greeted, shyly.

Shadow was shocked, to say the least. "What are you doing here?"

"I figured you would show up here eventually."

"But...how did you find it?"

"The grass is nice and soft, and the tree is just big enough to give you shade no matter what time of day it is."

Shadow just stared blankly at her. "You...paid attention to that?"

Blaze blushed, slightly. "It sounded like a nice hill. It is a nice hill."

Shadow smiled slightly, before sighing. "We need to talk."

Blaze sighed. "Yes, we do." She patted the ground next to her. With some hesitation, Shadow complied, and sat down next to her.

The two just stared at each other. The feeling between them was indescribable. It was a feeling of comfort and awkwardness mixed together, with something else floating in the air.

Shadow broke the silence. "I was angry."

Blaze looked down. "I know."

"I was going to just write you off. Another mistake to the list. Another failure."

"And now?"

"I'm giving this a second chance."

Blaze was surprised. "Really?" Shadow nodded.

Blaze looked at Shadow, with eyes full of disbelief. "I...I don't know what to say."

"How about why you said what you said."

"I'm still not sure. I guess.....I guess it's because I was scared. I didn't want you to get hurt."

"Me?" Shadow asked, confused.

"Yes, you. You already go through so much, and I'm not that easy to deal with. As you can see."

"So you didn't want to hurt me."

"Yes. But..."

"But....?"

Blaze closed her eyes. "I do feel the same way. I...love you."

Shadow took Blaze's hands, and held them. Blaze opened her eyes, and looked at Shadow with caring eyes.

"Look." Shadow said gently. "I can't tell you that this will be easy. I can't even tell you if this will end up ok. But I'm willing to try and make this work, because I want you more than I ever wanted anything."

Blaze smiled, happily. "Ok. I'm willing to try."

Shadow smiled, before yawning. After a few seconds, Blaze yawned too.

"Today's been exhausting." She said.

Shadow chuckled. "You're telling me. I'm gonna take a nap here."

"Mind if I joined you?"

Shadow pulled her closer to him, and held her. She draped an arm over his chest,  as they both laid against the tree.

Shadow talked about his encounter with the boy. Blaze told him about Rouge. The two just enjoyed each other's company, as the pain from the day faded away. The two drifted to  sleep in each other's arms.

And when they wake up, they'll wake up to a whole new world of possibilities.

Well. That's it.

That's it! Knowing You is over! I finished it up, and that's that. Thank you for all the support, this was my first series with less action and more angst, and i'm happy with how it turned out.

Ok, here's the deal. I'm gonna make a new series, which will hopefully be different from any other Shadaze story you have ever read. I'm gonna make it unique dammit!

Now, let's get the elephant out of the room. Christmas. I want to do something for Christmas, but it's a weird situation. Last year, I was working on a fantastic oneshot, but couldn't finish it. That was when I lost internet. Now, the file is still on my sta.sh account, but it'll be a pain to type up and edit and everything. I don't know if I would want to remake it, since it'll be hard to get that magic right. I may just end up doing a Christmas mini-series. I would love some feedback on this, and any opinions or ideas.
